Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk

Read carefully. By booking a Taste Circles experience and checking the acceptance box at checkout, the host and every attending guest agree to the terms below. This is a legal release of liability.

1. Nature of the Activity

Taste Circles cooking classes and private chef evenings involve, among other things: sharp knives and other cutting tools; open flame, gas and induction cooktops, ovens, and torches; hot oil and hot liquids; raw and undercooked proteins, eggs, and seafood; food allergens including but not limited to gluten, dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, soy, and alcohol; slippery floors; and the consumption of food and (where applicable) alcoholic beverages.

2. Assumption of Risk

I understand and acknowledge that participation in a Taste Circles experience carries inherent risks, including but not limited to cuts, burns, slips and falls, allergic reactions, foodborne illness, and other personal injury or property damage. I voluntarily and knowingly assume all such risks, both known and unknown, on behalf of myself and any guests I have invited or booked under my reservation.

3. Release & Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release, waive, and discharge Taste Circles, its owners, chefs, employees, contractors, and agents (the "Released Parties") from any and all claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to my participation, except for claims arising from the Released Parties' gross negligence or willful misconduct. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims brought by my guests.

4. Allergies & Medical Conditions

I represent that I have disclosed in writing all allergies, dietary restrictions, and medical conditions for myself and every guest before the class. I understand that our kitchens handle major allergens and that cross-contact cannot be eliminated.

5. Supervision of Minors

Any minor in attendance is my responsibility. I will supervise minors at all times around knives, heat sources, and alcohol service.

6. Property

I am responsible for damage to my own home or venue. Taste Circles will use reasonable care; we are not responsible for ordinary wear consistent with cooking, including minor marks, splatter, or odors.

7. Photo & Video

I consent to discreet photography of food and venue for portfolio use, with no guest faces captured without verbal consent on the evening.

8. Signature

Acceptance of this waiver is captured digitally at checkout: a checked acceptance box, timestamp, and IP address constitute my electronic signature under applicable e-signature laws (including the U.S. ESIGN Act and UETA). A copy is retained with my booking record.

9. Severability & Governing Law

If any portion of this waiver is held unenforceable, the remainder will continue in full force. This waiver is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, with venue in Bexar County.
